I am an ITIL certified process consultant (Certified ITIL® v3 Expert™ and Certified ITIL® V2 Service Manager™) with expertise in enterprise data center transformation, system engineering, and benchmarking. Obviously, I have and interest in IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL as it relates to ITSM as well as other disciplines and frameworks that support ITSM.

I work out of the Washington DC area and I have recent Federal experience which includes assessment and development of a transition strategies along with the infrastructure process design to support those strategies. My Federal experience spans both military and civilian agency projects including joint and individual commands, as well as multiple agencies and bureaus within the US Department of Transportation, US Treasury, and US Department of Agriculture.  In addition to designing improvement initiatives for IT services, I focus on aligning IT and Business needs through IT Service Catalogs and portfolio management of business demand as an extension of Service Level Management.

I am a Director with Gartner Consulting in Arlington, Virginia I have 24+ years of experience in IT.  I joined Gartner as a META Group associate/ alumni where I delivered multiple projects to a portfolio of over 76 different clients during my tenure. As a project manager and subject matter expert I am  well versed in IT Operations transformation, especially in the assessment of data center operations, refinement of data center processes, and the development and transformation of business aligned operation services and the governance models and policies to support them. Additionally, I have been very effective in helping organizations realized business aligned service delivery through the development of effective transition strategies.  I was a founding member of the Gartner team that designs and delivered structured transformation programs for enterprise operations and infrastructure processes, enterprise service delivery, rapid assimilation of new workloads, productization/packaging of services, and measuring/marketing IT value.

I have led projects related to process improvement  and several engagements aimed at improving operations management techniques and controlling total cost of ownership. I was a contributor to META Group’s research and as a member of consulting co-developed with a member of research META Group’s process maturity model. Throughout my career I have been a conference and symposium speaker who has been quoted in the press and media. I was published in Data Center Magazine, "Managing Customers Perception of IT".  I have worked in a variety of business and technical environments. I was the recipient of META Group’s consultant of the year during his first 10 months with them and multiple Outstanding Achievement Awards thereafter.  In addition to his ITIL certifications, I am a META Group certified Operations Excellence Infusion program coach, a Gartner Certified Process Consultant, and a Gartner Certified Engagement Manager.

When not traveling, I live in Northern Virgina within minutes of our Nation's capital with my wife, Laurie, and daughter Katelyn. We are active member at Centreville Baptist Church, and I serve on the Architect Review Board of our community.
